I have a love hate relationship with the fact that I will never be fully satisfied here on earth until I’m back home with Jesus. What I mean by that is, the moment God breathed life into me and made me in His own image (Genesis 1:27), He deposited within my spirit a holy discontentment and an unending desire to take up my cross and become more like Him, more like Jesus.
We are told in the gospels in John 3:30 that “He must become greater and I must become less.”
How can I become less? How can I take my baggage, my stained past, my self-centeredness to him and leave it at the cross so that He can then transform me into His initial perfected plan of who I was always supposed to be.
In Luke 18:18-23 Jesus looks the rich young ruler in the eyes and challenges him saying “you still lack one thing.” In my own words Jesus told him to ‘face the facts’. He told the rich young ruler that there is still an area in his heart that he was not giving him lordship over.
