studio overdubs.

Posted by citipointelive on Thursday Jun 18, 2009 Under Uncategorized

Hey ya’ll!

In da studio tonight, kickin it with Bretty J. and Stu.
Doing some bass recording, stu by the way is killin’ it.
It’s incredible to hear songs come to life bit by bit.  These
Songs are really pulling on my heart at the moment.  They carry a real touch
of God, we’re so excited to release them to ya’ll, check the website for
details www.citipiontelive.com
For those that don’t know, we’re recording a 7 song studio EP this year.
It’s incredible when you go to choose which songs are going to go on the
album.  Some songs are no brainers and you know for sure they will go on,
but others seem to fall out of the sky and get onto the list.  There is one
song in particular that wasn’t even in our first discussion when we chose
the songs, then one night in the studio we scrolled down and found this long
lost demo that we did a few months previous.  Somehow it made it on the
album, crazy.
Keep praying for us hey, we’ve still have a few months left to go recording,
mixing etc.  Any and all prayers help BIG TIME!!!

Love ya’s mucho!

Aaron

——————————-

Hello. I  have just been sitting in the studio with Mr. Brett our engineer, and Mr. Stuart Bolger recording some serious bass guitar parts. It’s going really well. We have 3 of the seven songs completed for bass. The songs are sounding fantastic! All I can say is move over Flea ( Red hot chilly peppers)!!

So far, my favourite part from this album are the moments we have captured. Not just good music but amazing worship. I really believe that it is the heart behind these songs that is going to change and affect peoples lives. I believe that songwriting is a gift from above that we can work on and increase our skill level just like any other gift that we have. Meaning these songs could sound great just by the skill of our muso’s and from the fantastic song writing of Azza. But…. to have His presence all over it come from deep within our heart and motives is what makes it what it is!

Be good. Love you all.t’s time for the heart of Jesus Christ to be shown in this earth.

All my love

fasting.

Posted by citipointelive on Wednesday Jun 10, 2009 Under Inspiration

So our worship team at the moment is talking about fasting!  It’s the most powerful spiritual discipline that is kind of missed in a lot of Christians lives.
We believe that fasting should be a lifestyle, something we live out every week of our lives.  It’s defs good for shedding a few pounds, which we all like to do at times, but inside of us all, is a yearning to be so much closer to God.  To be intimate with our God, to hear His voice clearly, to enjoy His company, to know His thoughts, to share in His glory.  For us to have such access to the All Mighty God is really a privilege and an honor.  It’s a responsibility not to take lightly.
So many things in our world need fixing, need to be rebuilt, transformed, thoughts need to be reshaped, lives need to be helped, and prayer and action only get us halfway there.  If we can embrace the spiritual discipline of fasting again, there is no stopping God from revolutionizing humanity as we know it.

1 Chronicles 7:14 says “Then if my people would humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”

The best days for the Church of Jesus Christ are definitely RIGHT NOW.  God can heal lives, churches, communities, nations and the world.  That same transforming power lives within us, and when we fast, humble ourselves before God, deny our self, our soul, and pray and seek God, ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

So we encourage you guys, seek God wholeheartedly, try it out, pray and fast and see God radically change your life.

Here’s just a little info on fasting for ya!
Be blessed.

What is Fasting:
Fasting is “afflict soul or self,” is to practice self-denial.

Why do we Fast:
To humble ourselves before God and seek His face!

Psalm 35:13 David said, “I put on a sackcloth and HUMBLED myself with fasting.”

The 5 ways of Fasting.

1-Normal Fast – No food, water only
Produces greater humility and deeper repentance.
2-Total Fast – No food, No water
Only if God is really leading you to do it and you have spoken to a pastor to help walk you through it.
3-Daniel Fast – Daniel 2:10; Fruits, Vegetables, and water.  No bread, no juices, no meats or desserts.
4-Partial Fast – This is about cutting flesh addictions (especially for those that cannot fast food).  Ex. T.V., Movies, Facebook/Twitter, anything that matters a lot to you and could be taking time away from God.
5-Corporate Fast – A normal fast with a corporate group.  Brings power and unity within a group.

So much love

Recording @ the Grove Studios

Posted by citipointelive on Wednesday Jun 3, 2009 Under Gigs/Touring, Life

Were at the Grove recording this years EP! We decided to do a studio EP this year and were pumped with how its sounding so far.
I think this is what “Heaven” is like! Wake up to an awesome wife, coffee..pancakes..then hit the studio, pick up my guitar and just go for it for 12 hours! This is defs bliss.
Were walking out a dream and creating music that God has put on our hearts. Its an experience to remember in a lifetime and such an honour for us to be given the responsibility.
These songs carry the heart of the church today, pushing down walls and stepping into clarity with what Jesus has commissioned us to do, “go out into all the world and make disciples of all men!” (Matt. 28:18-20)
Its our turn, were ready for all that He has and willing to lay down everything, we are His disciples.
With love
Aaron

Ok so we arrive and I’m freaking out, this place is insane. Love it hey, our studio is in a mexican looking cottage home in the middle of bushlands surrounded by lakes and its crazy inspiring for writing. I love Grove Studios. Looking forward to the quality music that we are about to create for our God its so fun. Latas peeps. Love Chubs (Chardon).

The world as we know it is beautiful, but damaged. The words and melodies of the songs are God inspired and have the power to change hearts and direct them toward a life called by God. When we change – the world changes, that’s why we need the songs of heaven to be written and released. We don’t take lightly the responsibilty, importance, and opportunity to record Gods worship, we thank u God.

Love God and love people.
Forever His

Hello, hello, hello. After a very long 10-hour drive from Brisbane to Sydney, while witnessing an infant duck being crushed by a motor vehicle and having the mother duck collide with our windshield we have arrived at grove studios. Our engineer josh is a legend and we feel he will really help us capture what we are looking for. This morning our wonderful manager Cathy cooked us up a feast for breakfast, Bacon, eggs, fruit, yoghurt and these fantastic muffins. Its good to eat like kings when trying to record. We finished the drums for two songs today and it’s sounding sick. Tonight we are having another amazing meal cook again by Cathy (THANK YOU CATHY) We are just about to head back into the studio to put down the album intro. It has a bit of oriental influence, I kind of like it. I really believe we are going to capture something special this year as we record this 7-track studio EP. We can feel the presence of God all over it. All right I got to jump back into the studio all our love

off to malaysia!

Posted by citipointelive on Monday May 18, 2009 Under Gigs/Touring

Beck and I have a huge opportunity this week!

We have been invited to lead worship for the International COC Pastor’s conference in Kuala Lumpar, Malaysia. First of all the invite is such an honor.

Secondly, its gonna be an incredible experience worshiping with Senior Pastors/leaders from all around the world!

Its so good! The underground current of what God is doing in the world is so strong. The gathering of His people, in truth, in love, marching for the answer!

We live in a new era. A new time the world has never seenand what’s flowing out of our hearts in song, we can’t wait to share with the COC movement this week!

Love it…the best days are yet to come for COC church’s across the globe!

So exciting! Pray with us that God would pour out His spirit this week upon the leaders of this movement!

Much Love,

Aaron and Becky Lucas

God’s throne room should be irresistible to us

Posted by citipointelive on Thursday Apr 23, 2009 Under Inspiration

Beautiful peeps,

If you love Jesus, he calls you to worship him. No matter your situation, no matter your past, no matter your success.

He has called us to honor and adore Him with all our hearts, mind, and soul. We are spirit beings, and for our spirit to connect with the spirit of God we must approach his throne room with reverence.

John 4: 23 – 24

23: But the time is coming; indeed it is here now, when true worshipers will worship the father in spirit and in truth. The father is looking for those who will worship him that way.

24: For God is spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.

The beautiful, God breathed, God destined, YOU, is responsible to uphold God’s worship, love Him enough to worship him wholly. God’s throne room should be irresistible to us!

Perfect Love to you all xxx

a thought

Posted by citipointelive on Monday Apr 20, 2009 Under Inspiration

Hey everyone!

I just spoke last night at my church, Citipointe.  I spoke earlier this year in a tag team preach but this was the first full service I took, haha.  Yes, I was a bit nervous, especially because my wife, my father-in-law, and my mother-in-law we’re just chillin in the front row listening.  Now that was a bit nerve wracking.

My message last night was addressing a generation to “Get off the couch!”  To sum it up in a short summary, basically we have a broken, addicted, suffering world and you and I are called to be the answer, the deliverer, just like Moses was to His people.  Our generation today has taken a seat on the couch and is watching the world destroy itself, rather than getting off the couch and fully giving our lives to Jesus and being an answer to this love robbed world.

As I was preparing the message, I myself, was getting slapped in the face…It seemed like the deeper I went with it, the more things started to surface in my heart. I realised that there we’re a few things God’s been speaking to me about, and I’ve taken the easy way out by sitting on the couch!

But what we need to realise is that we will never reach perfection, we will never have everything we need to get off the couch and serve God.  That’s what GRACE is all about.   Jesus died for the imperfect! You don’t need to be ready, to have all the money in the world, you don’t even need all the answers, all you need to know is that you are chosen to be an answer and you can get off the couch and start using what is in your hands, changing this world for good and for God!

So pumped what God’s doing on the earth.  I love that we’re all doing this together!  Let’s keep loving our God with a higher praise, a deeper devotion, and a life that is madly obsessed with Jesus Christ!

Love ya’ll
Aaron

on the road again

Posted by citipointelive on Tuesday Apr 7, 2009 Under Gigs/Touring

Hello, hello, hello. Well New Zealand has been fantastic. We have been from Auckland to Christchurch, then to invercargill, the worlds most southern city except for the southpole. Now we are in Queenstown and it is beautiful. We have met some of the most fantastic people so far. I think New Zealand is in good hands. It has been so good to see people so hungry for god to move in their cities. Also so willing to learn and soak in whatever they can to build the local church, taking the worship in their church to the next level. You have all inspired me, thank you. Aight I’m going to sleep all my love talk soon

on the road

Posted by citipointelive on Tuesday Apr 7, 2009 Under Gigs/Touring

Hey crew!
We’ve been on the road for almost 2 weeks now.  It’s been incredible to hook up with church’s across NZ. God is defs moving and you guys and gals here in NZ are so passionate for God and people, we were actually just chattin about how your hunger to worship God has been inspiring us to go deeper.  Love your work!
Being on the road is so rewarding, but crazy busy as well.  You have little sleep, drink many latte’s, meet so many people, see so many people connect with God and inspired to go further, and the scenery….wow, its incredible.  We cannot complain about being exposed to some of the most beautiful scenery, some of the best around the world.

We have to rave about our team.
They have gone above and beyond expectation and hilarious!!! The new editions, stu+john snow, have stepped up and helping share the love, leading people into worship. Lovin our team here and at home!!

We’ve hit up so far, Elim church in Botany, Majestic in Christchurch, City Impact in Queenstown and Invercargill (which is the southern most city in the world…crazy) the crews there are doing an incredible job.  From training teams to leading worship to eating and eating and eating sooooo much food, this trip has been so worth it.

When all is said and done, we pray that this trip would connect people with Jesus, help inspire action in devotion to our God and open eyes to the reality that everyone, you and I, can be an answer to this love robbed world.

Let’s do this!!!

In love
Aaron & Beck

fiji survival.

Posted by citipointelive on Friday Mar 20, 2009 Under Life

NEW ZEALAND, here we come. Right now i am dreading our flight. We have to be at the airport and 5am, i don’t normally wake up till at least 12. Well firstly I just want to say I’m pumped for this trip. It is going to be sick to catch up with our friends from Elim, and City Impact. Also can’t wait to make so many more friends.

But the real reason i am writing is to explain the massive growth of hair upon my face. Now firstly, no, it’s not a fashion statement & I realize it is a little scary, although I am growing quite attached to it. But a week after we return from NZ a group of my boy’s and I are going on an ultimate survivor trip. Let me explain, 5 of us are getting dropped off on a deserted island in the middle of the pacific ocean just off Fiji.

This island will have no human life on it. All we are allowed to take is the clothes on our back, a spear gun, one machete, a knife each and 20 litres of water each and that is it. We will be on the island for 14 days, having to build all our own shelter, and catch all of our own food (probably going to eat heaps of sashimi). Actually we will be taking flint stones to help us create fire. So the ultimate plan of this trip is we have been shipped wrecked and we need to survive, hence the beard, I am trying to make this as realistic as possible.

Imagine a tourist boat rocked up, they would think we have been there for months. So there you have it, the reason for the giant pile of hair on my face. Really pumped for NZ though and cold weather love you all See you soon!
